About the Event
Hosted by LNB (Laboratory of Nanoscale Biology), the Cellular Structural Biology & Bioimaging online symposium brings together top experts in structural biology of dynamic biomolecular complexes, in-situ structural biology, integrative structural and cell biology across scales, and cutting-edge methods development.
The technological developments in experimental and computational approaches in cell and structural biology in the recent years have led to emerging new approaches and disciplines that aim to unravel the mysteries of living matter at high spatial and temporal resolution and at all scales from molecules to tissues. The main aim of the symposium is to promote the research and careers of the talented young scientists active in these fields of research.
A number of leading scientists have confirmed their participation as invited speakers, including: Dorit Hanein (Institute Pasteur, FR), John Briggs (MRC-LMB Cambride, UK), Petr Chlanda (Heidelberg University, DE), Peter Gunning (UNSW, Sydney), Kay Grünewald (CSSB Hamburg, DE), and Ben Engel (Uni Basel, CH).
The symposium is organized by a committee composed of scientists at the Paul Scherrer Institute and ETH Zurich (Takashi Ishikawa, Volodymyr Korkhov & G.V. Shivashankar), University of Bern (Wanda Kukulski & Benoit Zuber) and University of Zurich (Ohad Medalia).
The symposium will be held on Zoom over the course of two days and will include four sessions featuring the invited speakers and the speakers selected based on the submitted poster abstracts. The meeting will also include two poster sessions, presentations by the industrial partners (Gatan, Nikon, etc.), and a Wonder-based social event.
Additional speakers will be selected based on submitted abstracts.
